Great to hear Tomasz break down the competitive advantages of AI models, particularly around distribution and workflows—rearranging and reinventing them to unlock new efficiencies.

I’d add two more dimensions to this:

(1) Defensibility through talent – The best teams will drive the most innovation, even when building on top of existing models. Take Adept AI as an example—it’s built on top of foundation models, yet its execution, research capabilities, and focus on agent-like automation make it a serious contender. Even if you’re “just” a wrapper, with the right talent, you can create something uniquely valuable.

(2) Understanding the customer deeply – As AI tools proliferate, the real advantage shifts to product design, product management, and UX. Everyone has access to similar models, but the winners will be those who best translate AI capabilities into intuitive, high-retention user experiences. That’s where top-tier product designers and PMs will be in high demand.
